The Burn Bouldering Series is a long running competition series hosted across different PRG locations! The series consists of FOUR separate events, all with their own theme! During each event, competitors will have three hours to climb great boulders in an energetic environment.
BOULDERING EVENT
Come for the climbing, stay for the costume contest! Dress up as your favorite character, monster, or anything in between and get your 15 seconds of fame as you walk down the red carpet to compete for the crowd’s attention!
BOULDERING EVENT
Come join Philadelphia Rock Gyms at our Malvern location to get out of the cold and feel the burn! Wear your ugliest sweater and try to win the crowds attention (or disgust) with our ugly sweater contest! Not to mention our fantastic climbs that will have your arms on fire!

Come to PRG East Falls and feel all warm and fuzzy inside with our heartwarming bouldering competition! Our fantastic climbs will get your heart pumping and your arms pumped out!
BOULDERING EVENT
Feel the burn at our last event of the Burn Bouldering Series, including BOTH Youth Finals, and Adult Finals!
In each of the four events, climbers will receive points for the five highest point value climbs they finish. Every climb’s points depend on the difficulty of the climb. Harder climbs are worth more points! Scores will be compared to the other climbers in your category. Use them to see how you stack up, or use your score to keep track of your climbing throughout the season!
Novice category will start at VB, so everyone is encouraged to come enjoy the fun!
We like to end each of our events with a great show! After each competition, there will be a finals round for the Open category. The top 16 competitors of the event will put on a show for spectators as they battle with our hardest boulders, gladiator style! The only thing that can make it better is beer, and we have that too!
Our Burn Series has been blazing over 20 years for a reason! Each event is tailored to have fantastic boulder sets that are sure to keep you invested, engaged, and most importantly, psyched on bouldering. Our ranking system measures your progress, year over year, keeping you psyched to try hard and get better. Whether you are a newer climber, or experienced one, there is fun for everyone at these events!

Registration for each Burn event opens the day of the event prior.
Yes! There are prizes for the top five competitors in each given category. The Open categories will receive a cash purse. You MUST be present during the award ceremony in order to receive your prize. If you are not present, you will not be able to collect your prize.
If you purchased a registration for a single event (rather than a Series Pass), you may receive a Full Refund if you request it more than 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Requests must be made by email (listed below).
Canceling your registration less than 24 hours before the event starts will make you eligible for a credit (either on your account or as a PRG Gift Card) for any PRG Service in the future.
Exception: Canceling your registration prior to the start of an event for reasons related to Covid safety (e.g. you become ill, or suspect you may have had contact with someone who has Covid, or you have such concerns for someone in your household, etc.) will make you eligible for a Full Refund regardless of the 24 hour period described above.
Series Passes are Fully Refundable up to 24 hours prior to the first Burn Series event you are registered to attend.
If you want to cancel a Series Pass less than 24 hours before the first event you are registered to attend, you will be eligible for a credit (either on your account or as a PRG Gift Card) for any PRG Service in the future.
Exceptions: Canceling your Series Pass prior to the start of the first event you are registered to attend for reasons related to Covid safety (e.g. you become ill, or suspect you may have had contact with someone who has Covid, or you have such concerns for someone in your household, etc.) will make you eligible for a Full Refund regardless of the 24 hour period described above. In addition, after you have attended one or more Burn events, should you wish to cancel your Series Pass for Covid-related reasons, you will be eligible for a pro-rated refund on the remainder of your pass (which will be equal to Full Series Pass Cost minus the standard cost ($54.95) of each event you actually attended.
Please note: If you cancel a Series Pass and decide you wish to attend a future 2020-21 Burn Series event anyway, you will be charged the non-discounted rate for any such event you register for. In other words, a Series Pass cannot be reactivated once canceled.

The Burn Bouldering Series consists of four events – the Midnight Burn, the Winter Burn, the Heart Burn, and the Final Burn.
All four events are open events for all categories. Competitors in each event will not only vie to win each comp, but also to win the Overall Burn Series, which will be selected in each category based on each competitor’s performance throughout the entire season!
To be eligible for an Overall Burn Series title and awards, a competitor must compete in the Final Burn and at least two other Burn Series events.

Climbers will be scored based on their top 5 problems completed. There is no limit on the number of attempts in the preliminary round.
For Open Categories there will be a Finals Round. The top 8 competitors from both the Male and Female categories will put on a show for spectators! Finals format will be Modified World Cup, AKA “Highpoint”. All competitors are expected to be familiar with these rules.

Registration for each event will close at 5PM EST the day before the event.
You are still able to participate, however you will not be allowed more time to get the full 3 hours to climb. All climbers will finish climbing at the same time.
TLDR- Ranking Points will be updated after each event based on the individual’s placement relative to others in their category. Competitors will carry their Ranking Points with them throughout the season.
