This class introduces the fundamental techniques, gear and systems required to lead climb in PRG facilities. It also prepares climbers for the Lead climbing and lead belay certification. Climbers will be instructed on the risks and responsibilities involved in lead climbing for both the climber and belayer. This two day clinic includes skill drills associated with clipping and rope management procedures, mock leading to safely practice these skills and falling drills on a Top Rope backup to gain confidence and more safely address the risks that can be encountered when leading and belaying a leader.
Prerequisite:
Top Rope Belay Certification and the ability to confidently climb 5.9 or harder. Must be 16 years of age or older.

Gear Requirements:
Climbers are responsible for providing their own safety equipment, including rope, belay device and harness.
